The Sealed Lot
For twenty years Dot Vale has kept one lot in her strongroom at the end of Salt Pier, sealed and unsold, waiting for a price. Tonight she opens the bidding. Ruth Callander thinks it is the Mending Page. So does the Chancellor, bidding through a man in a grey hat, and so does Kit, who has brought half the harbour and a plan. Your crowns buy a paddle and a place at the table. They will not be enough to win.

A Word With the Chancellor
The Lady Chancellor is giving a masked ball for the Lights, and every guest's invitation arrived as a Wind Letter that flew to their door. Yours came with a second line in the Chancellor's own hand: she would like a private word with the copyist who carried Sea-Glass. Ruth tells you to go and to promise nothing. The Queen, they say, may come down for the dancing.

Harbour Ink
Locks are opening on the Hill. A jeweller's on Coin Street, a magistrate's desk, the side door of the palace kitchens, each with a scrap of faded paper on the floor. Someone is printing the Opening Page. The Library sends its newest licensed copyist down to the harbour to find the press, and Kit Farrier, whose press it very much looks like, offers to help you look.

The Lights Over Gull Point
Ruth Callander has kept every Fixed Page inside the Library for twenty years. This year she will send Sea-Glass to Gull Point in one copyist's satchel, with her written leave to copy it there, because it takes ink only under open sky on the Lights Night. Yours. Bring it back copied and she will sign your Silver card. Tobias Venn has the telescope, the cliff and a list of things he wants to see, and the Lights are brightest at midnight.

The Dark Street
Bellmaker's Row stayed dark when the Lantern Page was read tonight. Odile Marsh wants to know whether the fault is in your copy or someone on the Row is putting out her lamps, and the night watch will want a name by morning. The bellmakers have shut their doors. One of them is still working in the dark; you can hear the hammer. Find the fault before the watch does, and the Library will license the Lantern Page to you as your own.

An enigmatic prophecy, hidden within the depths of the Department of Mysteries, resurfaces, foretelling a 'Shadow Scion' who will either restore magic to its former glory or extinguish it forever.
